WHAT DO YOU DO?
I photograph buildings and give them a colorful makeover with photoshop. I publish them as a series only on my Instagram account.
WHY ARE YOU DOING IT?
Cities in Germany or Austria, where my images are mainly from, are full of modern architecture. But those buildings are often just characterized by shape and held in a monotonous white or gray. The result is a not very interesting, cityscape with a lack of color. I color the buildings to make the architecture more interesting for the viewer or to show how interesting they are already. It should criticize the often very boring housing estates growing everywhere in the cities where the developers take little interest in design.
WHAT / WHO INFLUENCES YOU?
I think this would be very difficult for me to explain it. It’s simply everything what is around me. The people, the cities and the architecture itself.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
I started studying architecture last year. I want to translate my thoughts I have when creating the images on my architectural work now at the university and later in the business. Like I don’t do conventional photography, I don’t want to design conventional buildings but such which have interesting and unusual design and also with the use of color.
With my series I also want to show the viewer how interesting the “normal” modern architecture could be, which is often “not visible” in the gray monotony of our cities.
